About Gorczycki Festival

The main aim of Gorczycki festival is to promote classical music - masterpieces of the vocal-instrumental music - in the perfect execution, taking into account especially the musical oeuvre of the most outstanding composer of Polish baroque – Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki, who was born exactly here, in Silesia.

Gorczycki Festival Goals:
Our goal is to organize this significant festival in a dozen or so major cities of the Silesian Region, so that it becomes one o the most important cultural events of Silesia. We want our festival to promote Silesia on European cultural scene.

Goals for the closest editions:

• Cultural exchange between festival cities and their partner cities in Europe.
• Planing cultural undertakings aimed at an international cooperation (projects using EU funds, Vysehrad Funds and other international foundations).
• Widening cultural cooperation between cities of Silesian Region that are interested in organising a musical undertaking
• Creating a music market for Polish artists, giving them an annual opportunity to cooperate with Guests of the festival chance and to present their talents
• Inspiring and promoting artists-authors by ordering their compositions, presentimg them to audience, in the radio as well as recording them and releasing CDs.
• Creating conditions for cooperation for artists and musicians from different environments (including the regional exchange) and representatives of other fields of art.
• Intensyfying the cooperation with European cultural institutions for the purpose of Polish culutre promotion ( Polish authors and artists).

At present the festival is the greatest musical event in Silesian Region, on which leading artists from all over the world are perform a unique repertoire every year.
