Adam WesołowskiAdam Wesołowski

A composer, pianist, conductor, music theoretician and educator. Adam Wesolowski was born January 16, 1980 in Ruda Slaska. He started his education in playing the piano at Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki Musical School in Ruda ¦l±ska. His first tutor in piano was Ms Urszula Ryszka. He continued learning to play the piano in class of Ms Barbara Stankiewicz in Fryderyk Chopin Musical School in Bytom. Since 1999 he studied at Karol Szymanowski Musical Academy in Katowice in a class of composition, lead by Mr Edward Bogusławski and Mr Aleksander Lasoń and in a class of piano lead by Mr Wojciech ¦witała. In the same time he studied at the faculty of theory of music. In 2004 he graduated with honours from composition and piano faculty, then in 2006 he finished his studies in theory of music.

He was awarded many times, to mention just a few: he was a prizewinner in National Composing Competition in the name of Adam Didura (2000), prizewinner of a composer competition organized together with 6th Silesian Piano Competition, a winner of 2nd prize in National Composing Competition for Students of Musical Academy in Warsaw (2004), a winner of first prize in Adam Didura National Composing Competition in Sanok (2004).

His compositions and arrangements are performed in Poland as well as abroad, at numerous concerts and festivals: Stockholm New Music, Jan Kiepura Festival, Silesian Tribune of Composers, Festival of Virtuosity and Wit, Music Days in Mikolow, Adam Didura Festival, New Music Festival, Classic meet pops (Erkelenz, Germany), G.G.Gorczycki Festival, Summer Open-space Concerts In Rycerka Górna, Brand New Music.

Adam Wesołowski is a founder and director of Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki Festival (gorczycki.pl), a member of Polish Composers Association, a member of Artists Association ZAiKS.

An outstanding feature of his works is picturesqueness, despite the fact that the music is not programmed. Thanks to rich and precisely chosen instrumentration, harmony and melody his works are so vivid. The composer about his creating process:
